Louisiana State Mesonet

8/1/2025

Good morning,

I am excited to announce the Louisiana State Mesonet website has officially been launched!
https://mesonet.ulm.edu/

This layout is temporary while we work with our Computer Science department to build a more encompassing site over the next few months. We have a handful of mesonets scheduled to be installed in the coming weeks in Eros, Colfax, and Plain Dealing. The website will be updated with each install to display the current data from the site. The data streaming can be viewed directly at http://wxdata.geos.ulm.edu/mesonet/MONR/

When on the home page, click the “View Data” tab and it will take you to the website above. The drop-down menu will allow easy navigation of different mesonets whose station name reflects their geographical location. I.e., the Monroe site is MONR, Colfax will be COLF, etc.

Please explore the website to all its corners. There is information about the importance of the mesonet project, the instruments on the tower, the site requirements we look for when scouting, and more. You will also see the contact button listing the new mesonet email address. Please use this address when you have questions about the mesonet.

Lastly, as the website grows, we are asking for recommendations from our partners and leadership on how they would like the data to be displayed or other types of visualizations. Feel free to share this exciting development!
